Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@wholehorseconnections.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Osteopathy is a gentle form of manual therapy that focuses on bringing balance to the whole body structure; internally and externally. We tap into the innate healing of the body by freeing up structures that can compromise the flow of circulation and communication to the muscles, ligaments, joints and organs.

Just like us humans, animals can have many compensations throughout their lives and eventually their bodies will start to show the effects of them. In an osteopathic treatment, we would assess and treat the compensations that are creating the weak points that can create an environment for injuries or distress on a joint/muscle. We tap into their innate healing by opening up pathways for improved circulation, nerve communication and lymphatics, all for healing efficiency and homeostasis.

  • Improve blood flow circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Improve nerve communication
  • Decrease stress/anxiety
  • Improve immunity
  • Improve joint mobility
  • Aid in pre/post surgery and injury recovery

You do not need a referral; however, your Vet should be consulted first with any concerns that you may have. They are your horse's primary healthcare provider.
Osteopathy is a complementary addition to your horse's healthcare team.
